Sentinel 16 Multichannel Controller

The Sentinel 16’s graphic LCD displays any of 3 different user selected screens for tracking gas concentration:

• Bar graph and numerical value of all active channels simultaneously
• 24 hour trend screen (per channel)
• Combination 10 minute trend and bargraph (per channel)

Sentinel 16 comes equipped with common relays for HORN, ALARM, WARN, and FAULT. For operation of additional auxiliary alarm and safety devices, up to 3 discrete relays per channel are available with the addition of optional drop-in discrete relay boards.

Depending on the specific configuration chosen, the Sentinel 16 can accept three different types of signals in any combination:

• 4-20 ma from two, three or four wire transmitters
• Direct output from a catalytic bead sensor
• RS-485 from a Scott Instruments MODBUS transmitter

Standard with the Sentinel 16 is the ability to retransmit a RS-485 MODBUS RTU signal in both master and slave configurations. This allows up to 128 Sentinel 16’s to be multi-dropped onto a single data highway for interrogation by another MODBUS master. They may also be cascaded by connecting one unit’s master port to another’s slave port. In addition, optional 4-20ma output boards allow communication with remote PLC’s, DCS’, or other control devices.

The Sentinel 16 is also available in 16 pt. & 32 pt. 19 inches rack mount configurations. Consult the factory to discuss your specific rack mount application.
