Scott Health & Safety Makes Numerous Charitable Contributions to Various Noteworthy Causes
DATELINE (February 26, 2008) – Scott Health & Safety, a business unit of Tyco International, has made fifteen contributions totaling $87,500 to various charitable causes in support their efforts. The donations, made from the Scott Technologies Foundation, were distributed to both regional and national organizations whose missions closely parallel that of Scott Health & Safety's. These organizations provide assistance or education to various groups and individuals in safety related industries where Scott is a trusted name in personal protective equipment.

Charitable organizations that received Scott Health & Safety contributions:
- The International Association of Chiefs of Police – $2,500 in support of its mission of professional development & leadership training for law enforcement agencies, scholarships for the families of fallen or disabled officers, and the fellowship of professional policing
- American Industrial Hygiene Association – $10,000 in support of its General Scholarship Endowment
- American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation – $5,000 in support of its mission to generate funding and provide resources for scholarship, applied research, academic accreditation, and related academic initiatives in order to advance the safety, health, and environmental profession
- Charlotte Firefighters Association – $2,500 in support of providing continual fire prevention and education
- FDNY Foundation – $10,000 in support of its mission of providing WTC educational programs and the continual monitoring of its firefighters’ health and welfare
- Firefighters’ Museum & Survive Alive, Inc. – $5,000 in support of providing continual fire prevention and education
- First Responder Institute – $10,000 in support of its mission of providing grants to in need fire departments on a national level
- The Foundation for Occupational Health & Safety - $5,000 in support of its mission of research, education, and the publication of information regarding general public health
- The Gold Shield Foundation – $5,000 in support of its mission of providing and offering aid to the families of the firefighters lost in the line of duty
- Medlife of Houston, Inc. – $5,000 in support of its mission of enhancing the quality of pre-hospital emergency care
- The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation – $5,000 in support of its mission of providing assistance to the families of fallen firefighters on a national level, including the Survivor’s Conference
- The National Volunteer Fire Council – $5,000 in support of it mission of providing a united voice representing the interest of the volunteer fire/EMS organizations
- The Piedmont NC Firefighter’s Association – $2,500 in support of its mission of providing continual fire education in the Piedmont, NC region.
- DC Firefighters Burn Foundation - $10,000 in support of its mission of providing treatment and care for severely burned first responders.
- San Francisco Fire Fighters Cancer Prevention Foundation - $5,000 in support of its mission of early detection and prevention of firefighter related cancers by providing annual screening and conducting longitudinal studies that follow firefighters throughout their careers and into retirement.
