Scott Health & Safety Launches the 7200 Plus Controller

Flexibility in gas detection for facilities needing multi-point monitoring

Scott Health & Safety, Monroe, NC (May 31, 2007) - Scott Health & Safety announces the introduction the new 7200 Plus Two Channel Universal Controller, Rated for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations. The 7200 Plus Controller is ideally suited for critical multi-point monitoring situations for use in facilities such as water and waster water treatment plants, industrial laboratories, pulp and paper facilities, and oil and gas production plants and refineries.

"We designed the 7200 Plus Controller to include direct cat bead capability," says Bob Bierzynski, General Manager of Scott Health & Safey's instrument division, "Couple that with its Mod Bus and 4-20 current loop input options and the 7200 Plus Controller provides flexibility to any fixed gas detection system. In addition, existing installations of current loop and direct cat bead detectors can be upgraded with a 7200 Plus Controller, offering an economical solution to receiver needs."

In addition to being easy to configure, a user friendly display shows each channel's detection history, mod bus interfacing and output relay options for any application. Measurement ranges in engineering units, adjustable alarm set-points, optional serial interfaces, and many other features offer flexibility to meet most demanding applications.

The new 7200 Plus Controller accepts direct cat bead inputs, 4-20 mA current loop inputs, RS-485 Mod Bus inputs or any mix of the three. This provides end users the flexibility to utilize Scott’s Cat Bead Detectors and Freedom Series Toxic, Infra-Red Transmitters.

With the addition of the new 7200 Plus Universal Controller, Scott Health & Safety now offers two point, four point and sixteen point receivers that can be used with all of our various gas detection transmitters and detectors, providing the flexibility needed for any application. The addition of the 7200 Plus Controller to Scott’s line of receivers truly makes Scott Health & Safety a sole source solutions provider to every market and industry segment where gas detection products are required.

“The Scott Hazmat Radiocom II will enable members of the FDNY’s Hazardous Material Team to communicate clearly and effectively without removing their masks,” says Jon Adams, president of Ultra Electronics-Audiopack. “It was designed with a raised PTT button to ensure that the PTT could be actuated in case of a sloppy hit with a gloved hand. It is equipped with a guard to prevent unintentional activation.”
