Scott Health & Safety Annouces the introduction of the New Scott AV-3000®™ SHROUD
Scott Health & Safety, Monroe, NC ( a part of Tyco Fire & Security Breathing Systems business unit) August 25, 2005 -- Scott Health & Safety, part of Tyco Fire & Security, announces the release of the new Scott butyl coated nylon AV-3000 Shroud for splash protection in various environments involving Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) contaminants. It is the newest addition to Scott’s full line of respiratory protection products for CBRN applications.
“Scott’s new Shroud for the AV-3000 facepiece will allow users such as police and first receivers to work more safely and comfortably in environments that are the result of terrorist acts or emergencies where CBRN contaminants may be present,” says Luanne Freund, Scott Health & Safety’s Industrial Marketing Manager.
The AV-3000 Shroud covers the head, ear and neck areas, providing an added layer of protection against gases and vapors associated with a CBRN environment. It easily and snuggly attaches to the Scott AV-3000 facepiece, while allowing the use of additional Scott accessories, such as communication devices. The material used in the AV-3000 Shroud is manufactured to a stringent MIL standard specification and tested for permeation against live agents to ensure a quality product.
The AV-3000 facepiece with attached Shroud is a key addition to Scott’s Top Down Convertibility™ design concept, and is NIOSH approved when used as a component of a Scott air purifying respirator, gas mask, supplied air respirator, Industrial SCBA™ or Swat-Pak™. The new Scott AV-3000 Shroud is available throughout North and South America through local Scott Health & Safety Authorized Distributors.
