C100 - Scott’s newest Industrial SCBA

Monroe, NC – December 3, 2002 – With safety risks and the threat of danger always lurking around the corner in today’s industrial environment, it is vital that employees are fully equipped to face daily challenges in the workplace. However, addressing those challenges with an OSHA compliant and cost-effective solution often do not often go hand-in-hand. Until now: introducing the C100 SCBA from Scott Health and Safety, the leader in respiratory protection. The C100 SCBA is the cost-effective solution for OSHA compliance for industrial respiratory protection.

Engineered with innovative technology—fail-safe spring-loaded piston single stage pressure reducer, aspirating whistle alarm and first breath activated Mini-regulator, the C100 SCBA offers ideal supplied-air protection in non-fire related environments that are or may become “Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health” (IDLH).

Luanne Freund, Scott’s Industrial Marketing Manager states, “The C100 is the ultimate supplied-air defense mechanism combining value and performance. It’s ideal for chemical, petrochemical, paper mill, or other industries that have the threat of dangerous concentrations of gases or vapors. ”

A 30-minute 2216 psig aluminum cylinder combines with a dependable spring-loaded single stage pressure reducer to meet NIOSH 42 CFR Part 84 and NFPA airflow performance requirements for self-contained breathing apparatus. With 500 slpm peak flows, the C100 provides a new air confidence in personal protective equipment. This cost-effective respiratory protection solution with simplified maintenance procedures and no required overhauls ensures a low cost of ownership—a must in today’s ever-changing industrial environments.

Designed for greater user safety and acceptance, the C100 Industrial SCBA features a “first breath activated” mini-regulator with non-locking bypass and reset button air-saver for easy donning. This high-tech mini-regulator mounts on the right side of facepiece affording the user a full range of motion and uninterrupted field of vision.

A durable injection molded back-frame with fiber-reinforced insert offers improved flexibility and makes the C100 ultra-light — providing users greater freedom of movement. A removable lumbar pad designed with nylon over closed cell foam keeps the weight of the unit equally distributed on any body-reducing user fatigue. The harness of the C100 is made of flame retardant polyester and incorporates a sturdy Kevlar® cylinder retention strap and convenient, dependable cam latch for quick cylinder changes.

"Simply put, the C100 Industrial SCBA is the absolute best fit when it comes to Industrial SCBA products,” stated Ms. Freund.
